OK, well i have a problem with the default priority setting that the Gw.exe file is given. What i mean by this is, when i Alt-Tab out of GW then try and Alt-Tab back in it takes about 30 seconds before it even contemplates loading back up. I found the problem to be the default priority that GW is given under the processes tab of the Windows Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del / Ctrl-Shift-Esc.)

GW is always set to Low priority, which makes the game rather slow and juddery in addition to the problem stated above. The attatchment shows that my Comp can easily handle GW and it has the Task Manager in view as well. (i am not sure if there is a better way to get the comp to show its specs but this will have to do) i also have a Sapphire X800 AGP. However i doubt that my system specs have anything to do with the problem.

I can change the priority to something higher which makes the game run faster for a few seconds or load up straight after i change it, however it then slows down again, and when i check, it gone back to low priority.

I have tried making a shortcut with this as the target:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c start "Guild Wars" /abovenormal "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe"

However it simply goes back to Low a few seconds later.

I Hope someone can help me, and I thank you in advance for your assistance.

it looks like u running 2 GW
scrol down and find the second GW and look at the priority
also, it shows CPU usage 100% and 55 processes try "killing" a few of them....like apdproxy, pdvdserv,realsched,etc

Sorry but there are not two Guild wars there, i have the ability to run 2 GW and have put them both in a folder and changed the folder picture so that it looks exactly like an instance of GW.

And i also dont want to "kill" them until i know what they do.

GW goes into low priority when minimized. When it does, the cpu usage increases. I have no idea why it does that, but it does. That is why it delays restoring the window.

Now if it goes into low priority when maximized, then something is wrong with your windows installation.

run ad-aware, and spybot search and destroy,

then when you dont know what a service is, go to google, and type it in, you will FIND SOMETHING and generally it will tell you if its bad or good.

if its bad, uninstall it, you need to change alot of your settings, your running WAY to much my friend.

also, set gw.exe to normal.

I set the priority to normal, and it goes straight back to low a few seconds later. I will try and get rid of some crappy processes

I would do that. If you ask me. You seem to a have a lot of random processes going to work, and I wondering what your've got running on your PC. The mess on your desktop tells me you don't keep things tidy

The priority really has nothing to do with anything.

Running two instances of GW will create issues unless you have 2GB+ RAM let me tell you know.

I would search the name of half of those processes on goggle, just type the name.exe and your find sites which explain what they are.

Getting more RAM would also help.

Like I said before the priority really has nothing to do with anything, your computer's RAM and CPU time is simply being taken up by other stuff.
